Bogle Says Mutual Fund Costs Near 4%

Vanguard founder Jack Bogle, in a forthcoming article for the Financial Analysts Journal, maintains that actual costs for actively managed funds are approximately 3.92%. So reports Morningstar.com.

Expense ratios, transaction costs, and the drag of performance from cash holdings accounts for a 1.77% expense while sales charges, tax inefficiency and investor behavior accounts for another 2.15% drag on performance.
