Fiduciary Standards Advocate Leaves Influential Senate Post

Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), a strong advocate of imposing the fiduciary standard on brokers, has left his position as chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance and Investment. So reports Think Advisor.

He has maintained that the fiduciary standard should be a top priority for the committee, but is leaving his chairmanship role to head up the Senate Indian Affairs Committee.
