SEC Outlines Priorities for Broker Exams

The Securities and Exchange Commission is likely to focus its exams next year on brokers with a history of regulatory problems and on the selling of mutual funds with high fees. So reports Reuters.

The regulator will scrutinize the selling of L share mutual funds, which are used in annuities and have substantial upfront sales fees, says Kevin Goodman, who heads the broker-dealer examination program for the SEC.
