“Late this [Monday] afternoon, the SEC was informed that a Washington, DC headquarters employee was treated for respiratory symptoms today,” the spokesman said, according to the publication. “The employee was informed by a physician that the employee may have the coronavirus and was referred for testing. Amongst other precautions, the SEC is encouraging headquarters employees to telework until further guidance.”
Many of the agency’s employees already participate in its telework program, which allows employees to work remotely at least part of the workweek. The SEC spokesman said the agency will continue to monitor “market function.”
