Commission-Based Annuities Cheaper in the Long Run

For clients that work with an advisor for six years or longer, commission-based annuities are likely to be cheaper than some of the newer fee-based products that are being launched in response to the Labor Department’s fiduciary rule, says John Olsen, author of “John Olsen’s Guide to Annuities for the Consumer.” So reports MarketWatch.

Advisors, however, should evaluate the benefits that each annuity offers when selecting products.
