Target Date Funds Likely to Fail to Meet Investors’ Goals

Target date funds are unlikely to meet investors’ goals because of their over reliance on bonds and equities, says Robert Arnott, who is a frequent critic of the products and chairman of Research Affiliates. So reports Financial Advisor.

Arnott says returns of bonds and stocks are unlikely to keep up with inflation in the coming years, so investors should diversify their assets by investing in commodities, bank loans, high-yield bonds, convertibles, REITs and emerging markets bonds and stocks.
