DALBAR Updates Analysis of Investor Underperformance

Over the past 30 years, a composite indicator of investors’ results recorded the greatest underperformance for the month of October of 2008, with a negative return of 24.21% compared to the 16.80% return of the S&P. That's according to a press release from DALBAR.

The consulting and research organization says the second-worst month was March of 2000, when the composite generated a 3.72% return compared to the 9.78% return of the index.
