Barclays CEO Out Following Jeffrey Epstein Investigation

Jes Staley, CEO of Barclays, has quit his role at the bank. Staley has been replaced by C.S. Venkatakrishnan. So reports CNBC.

BarclaysThe move follows an investigation by both the U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority into Staley’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The investigation was in to Staley’s “characterization to Barclays of his relationship with the late Mr. Jeffrey Epstein and the subsequent description of that relationship in Barclays’ response to the FCA.”

However, the bank said it did not see any evidence that Staley knew about Epstein’s child sex trafficking crimes.
