CFP Board Drops Fee-Only Description

In the aftermath of a controversy over the use of “Fee-only” when describing advisors’ compensation, the CFP Board of Standards has dropped the option from its website. So reports Financial Advisor.

The board recently faced a controversy over certain board members’ use of the fee-only description and the recent change is considered to be an opportunity for advisors to revaluate if they qualify for using it.
