Social Security May Provide Retroactive Benefits to Same-Sex Couples

The Social Security Administration says it will provide retroactive spousal benefits to same-sex couples that were married in states that previously didn’t recognize such matrimonial unions, according to attorneys for plaintiffs. So reports ThinkAdvisor.

The attorneys are seeking the benefits for clients now that the Supreme Court has upheld the legality of same-sex marriages.
