Finra Smacks Down Rep for Improperly Charging Commuting Costs  

FINRA suspended Anthony DeJohn and slapped him with a $5,000 fine for improperly charging his commuting expenses of $2,270 to a credit card issued to him by BMO Capital Markets. So reports Advisor Hub.

thumb down 1426814 640DeJohn, who has 21 years of experience as a broker, is accused of putting his bus pass on the card for six months and falsely representing that the expenses were related to client visits. “These expenses were personal expenses that were not eligible for reimbursement as business expenses under BMO’s policies,” Finra said, according to the article

DeJohn is no longer registered. The suspension is for eight months.

DeJohn did not admit or deny the allegation, but agreed to the disciplinary actions.
