Senate Committee Backs Obama Proposal to Boost SEC’s FA Examiner Ranks

A request by President Obama for additional funding needed to add 250 financial advisor examiners to the ranks of the Securities and Exchange Commission has been approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Financial Services Subcommittee.

That’s the first step in having the upper chamber of Congress act on the proposal. So reports Financial Advisor.

The House Appropriations Committee, however, has voted to keep SEC funding at the same level as 2013 so the outcome of Obama’s proposal is uncertain.
