Senate Dems Propose Gov't Matching Retirement Contributions

Senate Democrats have introduced a bill that would provide up to a $500 government matching payment for low-income individuals and families that contribute to retirement savings programs. So reports Plan Advisor.

Under the proposal, the government would make a 50% match on contributions of up to $1,000 per year for individual employees with a maximum income of $32,000 or couples with a combined maximum income of $65,000.
